History of Loughton Cinema
In July 2010, Loughton Town Council arranged the first film screening in Loughton for 47 years with the showing of the Oscar nominated film 'An Education' starring Emma Thompson, Peter Sarsgaard and Carey Mulligan.
The show was a sell out.
With no cinema in our local area, Loughton Film Society was inaugurated in September 2010 to continue the pioneering work of the Town Council and bring the cinema experience back to Loughton.
